On July 1 the United States Patent and Trademark office issued U.S. Patents No. RE40412 and RE40411. These patents are reissues of, and replace, U.S. Patents 5,486,869 and 5,754,250. Technology Licensing Corp., is the exclusive owner of all licensing and enforcement rights to these patents. The patents were again examined by the United States Patent and Trademark Office at the request of TLC in view of prior art and assertions made by infringers which were uncovered during enforcement activities. All original claims of the two patents were found valid over the prior art, and several newly added claims were allowed as well. These reissued patents, like the originals, broadly cover most modern SD and HD video sync separator circuits used in consumer and broadcast video products. These covered circuits include several widely distributed dedicated sync separator ICs and analog video front end ICs.
